The National Centre for Psychotraumatology and the University of Southern Denmark are very proud to invite you to the 15th ESTSS conference. The conference will take place on 2-4 June 2017 in Odense, Denmark.
As an important sub-field of psychotraumatology, we have chosen "Child Maltreatment - What do we know? Where do we go frem here?" as the main theme of the 2017 conference. The goal is to increase our knowledge of child maltreatment in order to inform and improve actions on prevention and treatment.
The conference will focus on traumatisation resulting from physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse of children. Clinicians, researchers, and professionals who have an interest in the field will be able to learn about the current status of the field, new trends and points of interest, and where the field is headed. In addition to abuse, there will be a focus on themes such as traffic victims, life-threatening disease, catastrophes, veterans and refugees. In order to present a broad and nuanced perspective on the field of child maltreatment, the conference will include knowledge from both research and “real world” clinical practice.
The conference will take place in Odense, the charming historical city where Hans Christian Andersen was born and raised. Odense is the third largest city in Denmark and is situated on the island of Funen, right in the middle of the country with direct train connections from Copenhagen airport.
The conference is organised by the Danish Psychological Society against Child Maltreatment,
the National Center for Psychotraumatology and the University of Southern Denmark.
We hope to see you in Denmark in 2017.
A warm “velkommen” from Professor Ask Elklit
